Inspired by my experience as an on-air radio host, in 2009, I created a blog to review and interview local bands. Blogging led me to freelance with similar publications and eventually work for Beartrap PR's independent public relations label. I focused on booking live shows and promoting tours and new releases from indie bands.
Throughout this experience, I continued to freelance as a blog writer, learning the ins and outs of SEO. Eventually, I moved into other forms of copywriting, including web copy, marketing graphics and content, book reviews, food reviews, advertising and scripted content.
Over my decade in entertainment I worked on filmed sketches, live shows and performed hundreds times as a stand-up comedian. You can see clips and view scripted content I have written in my media kit.
In 2021 I joined the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) for my work on the scripted series, Stay-at-Home-Mom. I wrote original high-volume audio and vertical content series for PocketFM 2023-2026, and am most proud of my Queer adaptation of Sherlock Holmes set in 1990s London.
A decade later, I have experience working with businesses in every industry, from food and retail to tech and the arts. I can deliver creative website copy, engaging newsletters, and social content that grows your brand. I specialize in working with small businesses, fellow creatives and podcasts.
In this portfolio, you'll find some of my most significant public relations, design, and copywriting projects, as well as links to published work and my entertainment media kit.

Testimonials
“I’m a video producer that worked with Sam on a series of video sketches that she wrote and starred in. Not only is Sam incredibly creative and funny, she’s one of the most professional and well-prepared comics I’ve ever worked with. Writes tightly written scripts, ingenious props, always arriving early and ready on set. Great collaborator. She will make any project better, hilarious, and her positive attitude and professional demeanor on set is contagious. Sam rocks.”

“Atlanta based Stand-Up and consummate creative professional. She runs a theatre + comedy collective, is a terrific creative mind, and writes like her life depends on it (which it does, because that’s how she makes money). She’s fun as heck, funny as hell, and professional as Hades. I wish everyone I worked with was as simultaneously collaborative and shit-together-having as Sam.”
— Brad Einstein, Tree Huggers Comedy
“Sam has a well-honed comedic sensibility and she uses it to help people develop their own comedic voice. Sam’s class environment is supportive and fosters a fun yet serious pace. She helps you put the pieces together in a way you understand and can build upon. I’ve worked with Sam in different settings and she is the same; supportive, funny as hell and always pushing for the best version you can put out. Her attention to detail and communication skills make working with her and learning from rewarding. Take a class with her now so you can brag about it when she’s on HBOMax or records her Netflix Special.”

“I took Sam’s stand-up class last year and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. She does a fantastic job of really getting the best out of you and provides a great environment for everyone to grow. 10/10, would not be able to tell jokes the way I do now if it wasn’t for her!”

“I keep signing up for comedy classes, feeling like an eternal beginner, but what I really need is that feedback, accountability and encouragement when I get in my head. Working with Sam was perfect! She knows her stuff and I wrote my first spec with the help of her class , but the real value lies comes from the great conversations we’ve had whenever I needed a sounding board for a script idea or feedback on a joke.”

“Seriously CAN NOT say enough good things about Sam as a teacher. I took her class at the end of 2019 at the same time I was starting stand-up. The way she helped me shape my first sets and material made all the difference in the world. From a theoretical joke structure standpoint, she was able to break down why things worked and didn’t work. She was also able to quickly fire off suggestions of new ways to take a bit, or give writing and brainstorming prompts on other aspects that I might want to think about more to generate new ideas. I’ve continued to work with her since then, and I’m always so impressed by how quick her brain works and how she always has some kind of feedback that ultimately put me on a path to upgrading my material to higher qualities that I never could’ve done on my own. A lot of times people will talk about how silly or pointless it is to have a teacher in comedy, and while I agree it’s true for some teachers, Sam is for sure the exception to that. I’m gonna continue working with her as much as possible, and if you’re reading this and considering a teacher at all, SAM IS THE BEST!”

“I took a class with Sam, and have also participated in multiple events she has produced and hosted.
Even though our stand-up class was small (approximately seven students), the group consisted of a wide breadth of backgrounds, points-of-view, prior comedy experience, comedic styles, and reasons for taking the class. Despite our variance, Sam was able to cater the class towards each individual, cultivating growth and passion, while also creating a cohesive group identity with a “come as you are” sense of inclusivity. It was a treat to grow alongside my classmates as Sam guided us through the fundamentals accompanied with honest, constructive, and supportive feedback.
Sam teaching comedy is like watching a great chef: she understands the craft so well that she can make even complex concepts easy to understand- the way great chefs finally made me understand the appeal of red beets.
As a teacher, mentor, and manager, I highly recommend Sam and Windy Peach to anyone interested in a class or looking for someone to collaborate with. ”
— Ian Goldsmith
“I have never worked with someone who understands character better than Sam. I took a spec writing class with her and her depth of knowledge and adaptability to the different learning and comedy styles of the students was mesmerizing.
10/10 would recommend taking any class Sam is teaching. ”
